I remember hearing about enzymes and it bacteria that can break down plastics. Like in landfills and recycling. I just don’t have the scientific understanding in much of this. Could said enzymes or bacteria’s be used in humans?
That's a really good thought, but the technology for getting the enzymes the bacteria produce to eat plastic are really slow and it's only one kind of plastic that's eaten at this point. The kind plastic bottles are made of. It's going to take years of genetically engineering the bacteria to get it turbo charged enough to make a difference eating plastic bottles, so I don't think there's time enough with our current problems.
